Hopping off the bus, the first thing to do is to meet the locals. Spring had just started, and there were cherry blossoms in the air. I could tell that the rest of my life would be just fine.

Stardew Valley is an open-world game where there is no real objective. You can become a farmer, explore the world or become a monster-slaying hero. But no matter what option you choose, the game is great. The art style is perfect for this type of game and the depth that is added to every corner of the game. Stardew Valley has potentially infinite hours of gameplay.

Stardew Valley takes place in an alternate world, in a country called the Ferngill Republic. Bored with city life, the player decides to open a letter given to them by their late grandfather, who told them to open it only when the burden of city life gets to them. Inside the letter is the ownership of a farm. The player decides to take the opportunity and start a new life.

Upon coming to the farm the player realizes that the farm is, and has been, overgrown with trees, rocks, and weeds. With a little help from the mayor of the small town next to the farm, Pelican Town, you can start your adventure in Stardew Valley.

With more and more progression you can start to see the outline of what’s going on in Stardew Valley, even some… mystical things that might not make complete sense.

With time you can befriend the residents of Stardew Valley and in turn delve even deeper into the lore and history of the game, and unlock different areas such as The Mines, Ginger Island or The Sewers.

All in all, there is no bad part of Stardew Valley, and the reviews support that. 10/10 on Stardew Valley, 4.6/5 on Google Play, and 4.9/5 on the App Store, although some might not like the art style which is a bit retro for some people’s taste.

It’s been a year since I started farming in Stardew Valley, and now I look back on how far I’ve come. I have children, I have a well-functioning farm, and I’m happy. I think to celebrate, I might hop on a bus to the city. Who knows what lies in store for me there.
