Taylor Alison Swift, music sensation, announced the release of her tenth studio album, “Midnights”, on August 28, 2022 at the VMAs on stage. Even with all of her cryptic messages, no one was expecting that to happen.

Swift is known to hide easter eggs in almost everything, and she sure hid a lot of them at the VMAs. 

Taylor is known to hint at songs or albums, sometimes even years in advance. These hidden clues are known as “easter eggs”. She stated in an interview with Jimmy Fallon, “Can I hint at something three years in advance? Can I even plan things out that far? I think I’m going to try to do it.”  Even the simplest thing could be a hint to a future song.

The singer announced the tracklist titles on the social media platform, TikTok. She called the series “Midnights Mayhem with Me”, and used a “technologically advanced device” (a bingo machine) to leave it up to fate to decide which titles would be announced. The first track was 13, her lucky number.

Swift proceeded to announce the rest of the track titles, and with each title, another easter egg was uncovered.Her dress at the VMAs was a hint to one of the songs on the album, Bejeweled.

A special addition of the album, which comes in a lavender color, was a hint at another song on the album, Lavender Haze.

Although Taylor has influenced many groups of people, we all have different thoughts and opinions on her upcoming album. There are many Swifties (Taylor Swift fans) at frost who are enjoying the album.

Since its release, “Midnights” has become the most-streamed album in a single day. Swift has also broken the record of the most-streamed artist in a single day. “Midnights” is also Taylor’s most streamed album.

Thirteen year old Cate Swanson stated “The album is so slay. It’s really well written, and just so good.”

“Midnights” is arguably one of the most successful albums out there. With all of the records that it has broken, “Midnights” is left undefeated.
