Kokee Tea, loved by many, but not all. Located in Fair City, 9668 Main St., Fairfax, VA 22031, Kokee Tea is a bubble tea store which serves everything from coffee and juice, to milk tea and boba. Kokee Tea mainly serves bubble tea, however, they do serve meals such as ramen noodles and tteok-bokki.
From the time when I walked through the store, to when I left, the store was empty. When I ordered, I could spot a total of two employees at work. One working as a cashier, and the other as the person making the tea, also called a bobarista. I ordered ‘Earl Grey Tea,’ regular sugar, regular ice, with recommended toppings. After ordering, it took about ten minutes to finish. Unfortunately, it was an average of $7 per drink. It seems like a lot of money, but with inflation, it would probably be hard to find anything cheaper at a similar store.
On the inside of the store, the lighting really brings out the store. It’s bright and lively. The actual taste of the drink does not disappoint. If you’re there just for the drink and you’re leaving, this is arguably one of the best shops you can stop by. The amount of sugar in each drink is on the high side, although, and is too sweet for me. I do not recommend ordering noodles at Kokee, since all they’re doing is reselling the noodles at a higher price. It is advisable for you to buy the noodles at a different store.
Compared to other bubble tea stores and Kokee Tea shops, this location was not the best. It could definitely improve atmosphere-wise. Kokee Tea Fairfax is placed in an amazing location, though. Near the center of Fair City Mall. Kokee Tea Fairfax is best for a person looking for convenience and a quick drink, not a “dedicated boba-drinker.” I would personally rate Kokee Tea an 7.5/10.
