When making a decision, another angle to consider is cost. Airlines charge you additional fees for luggage that you bring, but for road trips, you can bring anything without hiking up the price. Similarly, if you have a pet, you could easily bring it on the trip without paying cargo fees. Plus, your pets would be more relaxed. Furthermore, Becca Stanek from newspaper “The Week” says that driving is less expensive than taking a plane.
Undermining the convenience of road trips, it is important to acknowledge that plane rides take significantly less time. While that is true, passengers who are driving to destinations nearby may experience similar travel times considering the time that checking luggage and TSA take.
All of these factors are worth considering when planning your next trip. Despite some exceptions, road trips are often optimal over plane rides because they offer safer, cheaper, and more comfortable travel for passengers.
