How many Marvel movies have people suggested to you this year? Probably not a lot because of the deep hole that Marvel dug themselves into.
One of the most famous Marvel movies of all time, Avengers Endgame, has put Marvel in a controversial situation. In Avengers Endgame, it is revealed that many of Marvel’s most famous superheroes will not return in future movies, and many longtime Marvel fans are not happy. Most people think the series is dead now, while others see it as an opportunity to open up for new viewers. From my perspective, this was a very bad idea!
Most of Marvel’s movies have been about their most prominent heroes, the Avengers. The Avengers is a group of superheroes that save Earth from problems that the Earth’s militaries won’t be able to deal with. Now that they are broken up, and some are dead or not returning, where does this leave Marvel?
Marvel will have to create new heroes in an already existing timeline. This will be challenging because they won’t be able to go back in time.
Yes, making new heroes will make it easier for new viewers to follow along the series, but longtime marvel fans will have to suffer and never get to see a movie of their favorite superheroes ever again.
Since Stan Lee’s death, (the first editor-in-chief for Marvel) Marvel has been very lost in what to do for future movies and characters. New viewers won’t have to catch up with the past movies and can start from the new era of Marvel heroes, but in my opinion, Marvel has fallen off majorly.
